Surgical Strike on Movie Uri
Surgical Strike on Movie Uri
A film which had raised the expectations, at least trailers made it look very promising but in reality it was an average Bollywood film. In real life Surgical strikes were carried out as a response to what happened at uri. In movie that’s not being portrayed properly.
Vicky Kaushal’s looks does not portray an army officer instead he looks like a bus conductor.
It’s a regular practice that before any mission the leader does motivates and brings josh in his team, in this particular movie such scenes are not that effective.
Usually in army planning is done at command level and execution is done at field level so if a officer is good at planning, definitely he deserves to be at command level. It’s not just the ability to plan but experience does get counted. In this movie when Officer wants to get off the field he gets what he wants when he thinks he should be on field he gets chance again, that’s not the way army functions.
This movie is highly inspired by “Zero Dark Thirty” background score and plots are very similar to that. But in terms of quality it can’t reach near zero dark thirty.
Intelligence officer as full time nurse to take care of ailing mother of army officer ? Couldn’t digest it. Yami gautam doing interrogations of terrorists and the way she talks is very dramatic. It doesn’t look like interrogation carried out by an intelligence officer or by an army personnel.
Conceptualization of UAV Garud and inclusion of that in mission is very filmy, it might have been developed by an young researcher but he operating those during an confidential strike is not convincing.
When terrorist is shot down the way Special Services Para Commando pulls terrorist’s gun is very immature. That gun pull triggers an grenade explosion and he himself dies in that, it looks like an accident and not a fight. Then the other scene at funeral of this para officer his daughter utters the war cry, it was not effective. I watched the real footage again after watching the movie, it happened during funeral of Shaheed Col M N Rai, his daughter had shouted the regimental war cry and no matter how many times I watch that, it gives me goosebumps. In real life it was Gorkha Regiment in movie for cinematic liberty they changed it to Special Forces Para, that was not fair.
For actual operation in movie an Airforce pilot who is under investigation gets chance to fly the chopper, an Airforce pilot who is not in actual action or in practice of flying gets selected for such critical operation can happen only in our movies. When Vicky Kaushal gets transferred to the Delhi office he spots this Airforce Officer and the way he looks at her is not an one officer would look at other. It looks like he is smitten by her beauty. Scene when soldiers return back after an attack, the way Kirti kulhari (Airforce pilot) looks at yami gautam, Vicky Kaushal and walks away it gives a hint of invisible love triangle, why that was needed ?
When it comes to portraying an army officer Major Shergil of this movie gets shadowed by Major Chauhan of prahaar. Throughout movie we don’t see media, opposition political parties. Reaction of families of those who got killed in uri, in climax scene Indian helicopter attacks Pakistani helicopter and it flies away without retaliating.
An excellent story & plot is being wasted. For me it was a very disappointing movie.
